- Patient lies supine with head slightly tilted back.
- Lukewarm medicated oil/decoction is instilled drop by drop in each nostril.
- Patient inhales gently; medicine is allowed to spread through nasal passages.
- Spitting out of secretions through mouth is encouraged.
